More Hiking!!!

We awoke early Saturday morning and loaded up the Rover in hopes of heading to the mountains and breathing in the crisp, fresh air...but once out on the road we realized that the Rover may need a little more tweaking before we put it up to the test. So we transfered all of the fishing gear and lunch supplies to the blazer and were back on the road. We drove up the road to Bandalier National Monument to explore the indian ruins. We found a nice picnic table next to a stream and set up lunch. After feeding our grumbling bellies, we cleaned up our area and headed up the mountain to view the homes of many long ago. We were able to climb into some of the dwellings to take a small glimpse into history. Some were quite small housing very few where others seemed to house an entire neighborhood. I grabbed a few shots of the view looking out of the "windows and doorways". In one shot, you can see the ruins (Austyn called it his maze) below and in another, it's shape is that of a raindrop. We hiked back down the mountain and saw the small stream that made it's way through the land. We found interesting growth as well as some of the "locals" hanging out. One was kind enough to let me capture his best side before scurrying on his way. We never had the chance to wet a line that day, but we still had a great time and were able to take a step back in time, even if just for a moment!
